The ShootQ Team
Ryan Petrello
Lead Developer
The yin to Jonathan LaCour's yang, Ryan Petrello serves as ShootQ's lead software developer. Tinkering with computers almost from toddlerhood, Ryan's interest in technology exploded as he entered high school, where he quickly turned his fledgling career as a website designer for his local church into other small design and programming jobs. By the time he started college, Ryan was already a seasoned web designer and programmer, developing professional websites and computer applications and serving as a consultant to businesses in the Atlanta area.
Ryan looking totally awesome in his shades.
Eager to reflect his passion for all things computer science - from the aesthetics of good design to the importance of effective user experience - Ryan served as a teaching assistant at the University of West Georgia, imparting his knowledge and enthusiasm onto scads of CS undergrads. It was this particular brand of enthusiasm that landed him an internship at Optio Software upon graduation, where he gained extensive experience in the Python programming language and played a vital role in developing Optio MedEx, a new product in Optio's application suite. This experience led Ryan to a coveted position at ShootQ, where he spends his days thinking of ways to make life easier for wedding photographers.
Ryan does occasionally take a break from computing in order to spend time with his wife Brittany and their two dogs, Sam and Miller. Incidentally, Sam and Miller both have their own web pages, so Ryan is clearly still learning the concept of work-life separation. Having recently purchased a new house, free time is hard to come by - however, when a spare moment does present itself, Ryan enjoys good books, good movies, days at the park with his dogs, spending time with friends and family, and kicking it old school with his Super Nintendo.
